Check that the online indicator is enabled

ClickUp’s Who’s Online ClickApp displays a green dot on avatars. If your workspace does not show online indicators, check that this ClickApp is enabled before testing an availability tool.

An absent indicator and an inactive session are different problems. Confirm the workspace setting first, then test your own status; the guide to ClickUp online status walks through both.

Your hours, in one place

Sign in to ClickUp normally in your browser and let the OnlineHours extension create a private connection code. Paste it into Apps in your dashboard, start a short session, then set an end time or repeat it on selected weekdays in your time zone.

The schedule runs on OnlineHours servers, so your computer can be off. The code grants access to your ClickUp session. We store it encrypted and use it only to check the connection, keep you online at your hours, and stop or remove the connection. Deleting the connection removes its stored credentials.

Make the first check count

Use an account allowed to view your presence, or ask a teammate to check your avatar. Compare a short session with a stopped session and leave room for the indicator to update.

OnlineHours reads your status back from ClickUp and shows what it observed. Still confirm it from another account: a recent reading is not a guarantee of what every teammate sees.

Common questions

Is there a free trial?

Yes. The 7-day trial covers one selected app with no card and no automatic charge. Subscriptions and prices are on the pricing page.

Can I use a ClickUp API key instead?

No. OnlineHours does not use API keys for this. It uses the signed-in web session from your connection code. This is not an official ClickUp integration, so check your workspace’s rules first.

Why can’t I see a green dot?

First check the Who’s Online ClickApp in your workspace. Then check sign-in, connectivity and whether the indicator is visible from another permitted account.
