1. Enable the indicator
In ClickUp’s App Center, find Who’s Online under Collaboration or All ClickApps and enable it. This feature adds the green online dot to avatars.
If you cannot change the workspace setting, ask the person who manages it to check. A scheduling tool cannot demonstrate a visible dot when that indicator is unavailable.
2. Establish a clean starting point
Open the intended workspace, complete sign-in and confirm that normal navigation works. Check your network connection before starting an experiment.
Use a second account with appropriate access, or ask a teammate to observe. Note the starting state so you can compare it with the test.
3. Test a short OnlineHours session
Select ClickUp in the free extension and sign in through the dedicated tab. Start a short manual session while leaving your computer awake.
Compare the extension’s connection information with the external view of your avatar. A recorded activity pulse is useful troubleshooting information, but it is not confirmation from ClickUp that your presence changed.
4. Check the end before setting a schedule
Stop the session and observe what happens. Other signed-in devices or your own ongoing activity may affect the result, so keep those conditions in your notes.
Only then choose recurring days, hours and a time zone. The ClickUp integration remains an experimental local feature, with no live managed cloud service included.
Common questions
Why does OnlineHours show a pulse without a green dot?
The pulse reports the extension’s action. The visible result still depends on ClickUp, workspace indicator settings and your current session.
Can I close my laptop after saving a ClickUp schedule?
The local extension cannot run on a sleeping or powered-off computer. Saving a schedule does not turn it into a cloud service.
